When it was commissioned in 1992, the Mont-Soleil solar power plant was the largest in Europe. The Mont-Soleil company positions itself as a center of competence for applied research in the field of photovoltaics for the public, the relevant federal and cantonal authorities and higher education institutions. The solar power plant, which is designed for long-term operation, has been carrying out life-cycle research since 1992. Its work is presented both to the public and – in particular – as part of the Summer School it organises jointly with EPFL and BFH.
